Idaho, My Homeland

Over the weekend of May 14-16 I was honored to travel back to my homeland in Idaho for a dear friends wedding. I hadn’t been back home for 10 years! I saw so many wonderful faces and got to spend a whole day in a no cell zone and focus on the bride and her big day!

Friday 14th,

I left our house in Poulsbo about 8:30am and started my trek across the state. I had only driven that route a few times and each time was so different and beautiful! I saw snow, farmland, crazy drivers and even a few cows in the middle of the road!

7 hours later I pull into the Olson’s home, they have been amazing family friends since I was about 9 years old! We attended their cute little country church for about 8 years before I graduated high school and moved away! It was so wonderful to see them and their grown up girls!

Saturday 15

Wedding day!! Joanna and I have been friends for years, I actually taught her Sunday school and kids club when we attended Southwick Bible church!  I am so proud of the young lady she is today! The day started like any other wedding day for me, I arrive at the venue (an amazing country house owned by a family friend) the views were spectacular!! As I made my way up to the bridal sweet I got to meet all the bridesmaids (two of which I haven’t seen in over 10 years so it was an amazing reunion!!) my gift to the bride was to help her and her bridal party feel gorgeous for this Idaho country wedding! It was 85 degrees and a slight breeze which was amazing! It was the perfect day for a wedding!

As we were prepping to get photos done, hair, makeup and gowns put on it was a blessing to be able to help Joanna stay calm and relaxed beforehand! No first looks for this couple until ceremony time! How special was it seeing Andrew’s face as she walked down the isle towards her beloved! Her simple hair and makeup really added exactly what she envisioned for this day! Once the ceremony was done we all gathered to the reception area, had some amazing food, I got to talk to even more friends I hadn’t seen in years and finally catch up with life in Idaho!

The bride and groom held a special dance, as well as the bride and her father! Once we were settled the party really got hopping! Line dancing and group dances were so fun to watch and be a part of! This day turned out perfect!

Thank you Joanna for allowing me to pamper you and your girls!

Sunday 16

So after resting Saturday night I wake up to start my trek back home in Washington! Said my goodbyes and headed to Moscow to do something I’ve been looking forward to doing for years! I got myself my very first tattoo!!!

After an hour or so in Moscow I then headed to Clarkston to visit my good friend Molly!! Hung out for a few hours, bbqed with Rachel, Jon and his wife Bree! Played some fun games then headed home! It was such a wonderful weekend away! Blessed to see friends, enjoy some relaxation and get out of my comfort zone!!
