Oh-hi-Oh

3/6-3/8

It was an incredible week! Backstory: a few months ago an opportunity presented itself to do a styled shoot here on the Oregon coast with 5 amazing photographers/videographers who flew in from Ohio to shoot! Kellie Craport with Sweet Pea Images, Tricia Johns & Samuel Curto with Willow Tree Creations, Kayla & Erik Jenkins at KJ Images!

Little did I know what I thought would have been just another styled shoot afternoon, turned into a 3 day shoot with 4 amazing couples (myself included)! Friendships were created and connections made that will last a lifetime! So let’s start with day one.

Day 1 :

Vanessa & Shane

It was great to reconnect with them during this shoot as I did Vanessa’s makeup for their wedding last year! It was a blast to see the amazing love between them and how it was captured on camera. We met at the Peter Iredale shipwreck for a beautiful sunset photo op! As cold as it was outside they did an amazing job and I was so thankful to be part of it! Vanessa and I have grown our friendship since before her wedding day and when this opportunity came I couldn’t resist but invite them to get formal bridal portraits! I mean who doesn’t need an excuse to wear your wedding dress again?

Day 2: Laurel & Nick

What can I say about this couple! So much, it began at 4am to get Laurel ready for a sunrise shoot at Ecola State Park. If you don’t know anything about the Oregon coast…it’s this, COLD. Yes, it was 35 degrees outside for sunrise! Was it worth it? Absolutely! I have loved getting to know Laurel and Nick during the shoot and loved experiencing sunrise in one of the most beautiful places! The love they shared during our time together was incredible, I don’t say that often but it was so joyous and passionate seeing them truly enjoying their time together (even in the cold).

Day 2.5

Mindy & Jeremy

That’s right, my wonderful fiancé and I got to shoot too! After Laurel and Nick, I went home to get ready for an afternoon shoot at Hug Point! The weather ended up being so beautiful after the sun finally rose enough to warm everything up. Hug Point is one of places not many people explore much of. In my opinion it’s an amazing place with a waterfall, caves and amazing cliffs you can walk right up to! Being local to the Oregon coast has its perks! Getting to know the area and the ‘secret’ places not many people know about. My fiancé was such a trooper, climbed up the rocks, and even laid in the ocean to get ‘the shot’! It was absolutely worth every minute of it!

Day 3

Briana & Steven

Sunset at Haystack Rock? Yes please! As the days went on shooting and planning we had one previous couple back out last minute. However, Vanessa mom and dad were absolutely willing to shoot in the breezy cold sea air, you would have never known it was last minute! They embraced the opportunity and as you can see the photo(s) turned out incredible! I will never forget this experience!

So March on the Oregon Coast isn’t too bad. In fact I would do it all again in a heart beat! Cold, warm, rain or sun… it’s worth every second and every moment captured.

A HUGE thanks to Kellie, Sam, Tricia, Kayla, and Erik for being so adventurous and making this happen! I cannot wait to work with you all again!
