and so the lion fell in love with the lamb

When you decide to elope in the Pacific Northwest there’s plenty of destinations that you can choose from. Finding the one that speaks to your heart, the views and aesthetic that fit your life will determine how your day goes.

I speak of having amazing privileges when I book weddings, but to be honest it’s more of an honor for me to be chosen to spend the day with you. Making you feel absolutely beautiful for your wedding day vision, creating that special look you were inspired by and being a friend, someone to confide in for the day. Most of the time the makeup artist is the first person the bride and bridal party see for the day. So my job (and it’s not really a job) is to ensure you are prepped and ready to go for the hours following.

This elopement was incredibly special to me. Cheris and Lance flew all the way from the Appalachia mountains to elope on the beautiful Ruby Beach…. (Yes the beach twilight was filmed on) I had never had the opportunity to explore that area much and it was incredible!

As you can see the day itself was sunny and bright so no vampires were present. Haha

Cheris and Lance truly had a one of a kind bond I see very rarely, and believe me I’ve done hundreds of weddings and only a handful of times have I seen a bond similar to the one they shared. Getting to know them during our time together was so fun! Their personality’s compliment each other so perfectly, the truth in the vows they shared, and the joyful spirit both expressed was vibrant!

Not only was hair and makeup done, but officiating their intimate private ceremony was done by me as well. It’s not often I get to preform ceremonies but it’s a huge honor to be able to marry two people and share in their love, share in the vows and ring exchange.

For Cheris and Lance, they asked if I could preform a Handfasting ceremony. If you’re not familiar with Handfasting here’s a short history lesson.

Handfasting is a traditional practice that comes from the accent Celtic traditions. In ancient Ireland, when two people chose to be married they were brought together to have a braided cord or ribbon tied around their hands in the presence of a priest. This act merely acknowledged the couple in a public declaration of their intentions. And it’s something they will have forever!

“Its an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to, and who will accept you for what you are. Ive been waiting, what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. And now, I feel like I can finally begin, no measure of time with you will be long enough, but let’s start with forever.” -Edward Cullen

So the lion fell in love with the lamb.

Thank you Cheris and Lance for truthfully an amazing experience. Meeting you, getting to know your love story, and getting you married.
